New Academic Year

Welcome back

We hope you all had a refreshing break. We are busy preparing for the 2008 academic year. We would like to encourage Māori academic staff to book a time for a library class for your paper / programme. Please contact Spencer (s.c.lilley@massey.ac.nz) or Sheeanda (s.l.field@massey.ac.nz) if you would like a session for your class. Research and other postgraduate students should be taking advantage of our research consultation service. This is a one on one appointment that will allow us to assist with your search strategies, identify potential sources of information and help you keep up with new developments in your area of interest. This service can also be done at a distance.

We are participating in Māori O here at Palmerston North and would like to encourage all new Māori internal students to join one of our library tours. These tours are happening at every campus library.

In summary:

If you plan to work with EndNote on a variety of computers, you should ensure that all machines have the same version of EndNote installed.
For more information check out the Library's EndNote FAQs.
You can upgrade to EndNote X through ITS at Albany, Wellington and Turitea campuses. Please pass this message on to your colleagues and students.

Transactions & Proceedings of the Royal Society of NZ

Tena koutou

National Library, The Royal Society and the NZ Electronic Text Centre have made this publication available electronically for the years 1868 - 1961. Search facilities are available, try searching for Elsdon Best or an iwi. This is another valuable addition to the stable of digital information resources and will make other resources like Fletcher's Index of Maori names even more valuable.

Here is the Link to it Transactions & Proceedings

More information follows (taken from their website)

The Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand is one of New Zealand's most important research publications, particularly for science. Contributors to the Transactions include James Hector, William Colenso, Charles Fleming, Thomas Hocken, and Ernest Rutherford.

The Royal Society (known as the New Zealand Institute before 1933) was established in 1867 to co-ordinate and assist the activities of a number of regional research societies including the Auckland Institute, the Wellington Philosophical Society and the Otago Institute. These societies often did not have the means to publish the papers that were presented to them or maintain a written record of their activities. The NZ Institute was set up to remedy this through the publication of a single volume of transactions and proceedings on their behalf.
